Grits Souffle'

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 cups grits
  • 8 cups water
  • 8 ounces gouda cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • 4 egg yolks, beaten
  • 4 egg whites, beaten stiff
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 cook grits in salted water.
  • 2 when cooked remove from heat, add cheese, butter, garlic and egg yolks.
  • 3 stir until cheese and butter have melted.
  • 4 fold in egg whites.
  • 5 put in greased casserole. (i use an 8x8).
  • 6 bake @ 350 degrees f for 45 minutes.
