Swiss - Turkey - Ham Bake

Ingredients
- Servings: 5
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (3 ounce) can mushrooms, sliced (undrained)
- 1 cup light cream
- 2 tablespoons sherry wine
- 2 cups cooked turkey (cubed) or 2 cups cooked chicken (cubed)
- 5 ounces ham, cubed (1 cup)
- 1 (5 ounce) can water chestnuts, sliced & drained
- 1/2 cup swiss cheese, shredded
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup soft breadcrumbs
Recipe
- 1 cook onion in butter until tender, but not brown.
- 2 blend in flour, salt, and pepper.
- 3 add mushrooms, cream, and sherry.
- 4 cook and stir until thickened.
- 5 add turkey, ham, and water chestnuts.
- 6 pour into 1 1/2 quart casserole, and top with cheese.
- 7 mix crumbs with melted butter and sprinkle on top of casserole.
- 8 bake at 400f until bubbly and lightly browned (25 minutes).
