Swiss - Turkey - Ham Bake

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 5
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (3 ounce) can mushrooms, sliced (undrained)
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 2 tablespoons sherry wine
  • 2 cups cooked turkey (cubed) or 2 cups cooked chicken (cubed)
  • 5 ounces ham, cubed (1 cup)
  • 1 (5 ounce) can water chestnuts, sliced & drained
  • 1/2 cup swiss cheese, shredded
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup soft breadcrumbs

Recipe

  • 1 cook onion in butter until tender, but not brown.
  • 2 blend in flour, salt, and pepper.
  • 3 add mushrooms, cream, and sherry.
  • 4 cook and stir until thickened.
  • 5 add turkey, ham, and water chestnuts.
  • 6 pour into 1 1/2 quart casserole, and top with cheese.
  • 7 mix crumbs with melted butter and sprinkle on top of casserole.
  • 8 bake at 400f until bubbly and lightly browned (25 minutes).
