Red's Crock Pot Beef Stew

Total Time: 8 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 8 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 lbs of cut beef
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • salt & pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oil (any type that you like using)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms (whole)
  • 0.5 (20 ounce) bag baby carrots
  • 4 -5 small new potatoes, cut up
  • 1 -2 onion, cut up large
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans beef broth
  • 3 -4 tablespoons cilantro, chopped fine
  • 2 -3 garlic cloves

Recipe

  • 1 coat the cut beef with flour salt and pepper.
  • 2 heat oil and butter and then brown the meat.
  • 3 add about half the onions and carrots when done with meat (this seems to add a texture to the stew).
  • 4 put all the ingredients in the crock pot--except the carrots onions and garlic.
  • 5 cook on low for about 8 to 10 hours.
  • 6 halfway through, add the rest of the ingredients.
  • 7 about an hour before serving, add cilantro.
