Shepherd's Pie

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped (1 medium)
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables, loose pack
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can cream of tomato soup
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • paprika (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 prepare mashed potatoes and set aside.
  • 2 in a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion until meat is brown and onion is tender. drain off fat.
  • 3 stir mixed vegetables and water into beef mixture.
  • 4 cook, covered, for 5 to 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
  • 5 stir in the tomato soup, worcestershire sauce, and pepper.
  • 6 bring to a boil.
  • 7 transfer mixture to a 1-1/2-quart casserole.
  • 8 drop mashed potatoes in mounds on top of hot mixture.
  • 9 if desired, sprinkle with top with paprika.
  • 10 bake in a 375 degree fahrenheit oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until heated through.
