Swope Bread

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 4 cups buttermilk

    Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

    Ready Time: 1 hr 15 mins

  • preheat oven to 350 degrees f (175 degrees c). lightly grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans.
  • in a large bowl, stir together all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, sugar and salt. in a separate bowl, dissolve baking soda in buttermilk. stir buttermilk into flour mixture. beat well. pour batter into prepared pans.
  • bake in preheated oven for one hour.
