Emeril's Fried Green Tomatoes

Ingredients
- Servings: 2
- 2 medium green tomatoes, per person
- flour
- cornmeal
- masa harina flour, harina*
- buttermilk
- vegetable oil
- salt & pepper
Recipe
- 1 cut the green tomatoes 1/4 thick slices.
- 2 soak in buttermilk at least 30-60 minutes.
- 3 mix equal parts flour, cornmeal.
- 4 if you can find masa harina add 1/4 amount.
- 5 add salt pepper to taste.
- 6 preheat the oil to frying temperature.
- 7 dip the tomatoes from the buttermilk into the dry mix.
- 8 brown both sides, remove then put on a plate/rack to drain in a warm oven.
- 9 serve with miracle whip or mayonnaise.
