Traditional Southern Cornbread Dressing Base

Ingredients

- 2 cups cornbread, crumbled
- 2 cups breadcrumbs, toasted
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
- 4 tablespoons parsley, chopped
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 6 cups chicken broth
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 leave the corn bread out a few hours to stiffen up or use it the next day.
- 2 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 3 in a large bowl mix all the above ingredients.
- 4 pour into a greased baking dish.
- 5 bake at 350 degrees for 1-1/2 hours or until golden brown.
