The Only Way Fried Chicken

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 1/2 lbs frying chickens, cut into pieces
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup solid shortening (lard is even better)
  • 1/4 cup butter

Recipe

  • 1 wash and pat the chicken dry.
  • 2 beat eggs and water together.
  • 3 put flour in paper bag.
  • 4 salt and pepper the chicken.
  • 5 dip chicken in egg.
  • 6 shake the chicken in the bag with flour.
  • 7 heat the shortning and butter until very hot, but not smoking.
