Cornbread

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
  • 4 tablespoons butter

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 425°f.
  • 2 preheat cast iron skillet in hot oven for 10 minutes.
  • 3 mix dry ingredients in one bowl.
  • 4 mix wet ingredients in another.
  • 5 put butter in hot skillet to melt, and dump most of it into the wet stuff.
  • 6 stir dry ingredients into wet ones.
  • 7 put batter into skillet and bake until golden, 20-25 minutes.
