Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
- 4 tablespoons butter
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 425°f.
- 2 preheat cast iron skillet in hot oven for 10 minutes.
- 3 mix dry ingredients in one bowl.
- 4 mix wet ingredients in another.
- 5 put butter in hot skillet to melt, and dump most of it into the wet stuff.
- 6 stir dry ingredients into wet ones.
- 7 put batter into skillet and bake until golden, 20-25 minutes.
