Mississippi Mud Cake - Shortcut Version

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 2 (19 1/2 ounce) packages brownie mix
  • 1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce) bag miniature marshmallows
  • 1 (16 ounce) package powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup cocoa

Recipe

  • 1 prepare brownie mixes according to package directions, stirring in chopped pecans.
  • 2 bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • 3 while brownie mix is baking combine powdered sugar, milk, butter and cocoa. beat all ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.
  • 4 when brownie mix cake is done, remove from oven.
  • 5 top warm cake evenly with marshmallows.
  • 6 return to oven and bake 5 minutes.
  • 7 remove from oven and drizzle chocolate frosting over warm cake.
